Homemade Lemonade Recipe

- 6 cups 1.4 L water, divided
- 1 cup 200 g granulated sugar
- 1 1/4 cups 295 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 8 medium lemons)
- Ice as needed
- Lemon slices for garnish
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup water and sugar. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let it cool.
Squeeze lemons to make fresh juice, removing seeds but keeping some pulp if you like.
In a large pitcher, combine lemon juice and the cooled sugar syrup.
Add the remaining 5 cups water and stir well. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
Serve over ice, garnished with lemon slices.
